Ziya fires shots at people who are quick to judge others’ sexuality

By , November 21, 2025

Content creator Ziya, who previously went by Muchiri Mike, has opened up on his change of identity and addressed fans who obsessively comment on other people’s sexuality, saying their behaviour often reveals more about them than the person they target.

Speaking on the Men Talk Podcast on Friday, November 21, 2025, the creator said that if someone’s way of being, their way of living, and how they present themselves on social media becomes a problem to others, it reflects more on the person making the comments than the person being commented on.

“If someone’s way of being, their way of living, and how they present themselves on social media become a problem to you, to the extent that you constantly feel the need to comment and shove remarks on their posts, it says more about you than the person you are directing comments to,” Ziya said.

Ziya also expressed frustration at the persistent obsession with his identity and warned that those who judge others’ sexuality might be hiding aspects of themselves.

He described the trend of online commentary as intrusive and toxic, urging people to reconsider the implications of their behaviour and to respect personal boundaries in digital spaces.

“So for me, I am going to tell people, all the closeted individuals are actually those who are in the comments section. Look closely; those are the ones,” he added.

Ziya’s statement comes after a section of fans speculated about his sexual orientation, which has been a trending topic on social media.

Transformation

Ziya began rebranding earlier in 2025 after deleting all his previous social media posts, including his comedic videos, which left many fans speculating about his well-being.

On April 5, 2025, the content creator and youth advocate officially announced his change of name to Ziya, explaining in his bio and social media posts that the change was part of his personal journey and reflection.

In his Instagram bio, he stated that he was someone else before and that he is now Ziya, adding that this is just the beginning.

“I was someone else before. Now, I am Ziya. And this is just the beginning,” he wrote.

In a separate Instastory, he reflected on his new name, asking what is in a name and telling followers to watch closely.

“Ziya. What is in a name? Watch closely,” he added in the Insta story.

The rebrand came shortly after he was captured wearing a crop top in public, which drew wide attention and prompted questions about his style choices.

In a statement, he said that his changes were meant to please the little child within him and the elder he aspires to become.
