Wanja Nyarari breaks silence after YouTuber claims she slapped him during Betty’s burial
By Steve Ireri, November 21, 2025Social media personality Wanja Nyarari has broken her silence and clarified why she maintained a strict security protocol during Betty Bayo’s burial, following a public accusation by YouTuber Cukura ya Nairobi that she slapped him.
Cukura had publicly claimed that during the burial, he was physically restrained and slapped by Wanja.
In a post shared on the morning of Friday, November 21, 2025, the YouTuber said that Wanja physically confronted him without cause and shaded her actions as loud, unnecessary, and totally out of order.
“Wanja Kihii, let me talk to you publicly since your behaviour yesterday was public. In my experience, you decided to slap me for absolutely nothing — If I had done anything wrong, real authority was right there. What you did was pure attitude, nothing else,” Cukura wrote.

Wanja, however, in a post on the same day, explained that her actions were part of a highly organised operation which aimed to protect the privacy and dignity of the late singer’s family.
She said that Sky Victor, Betty Bayo’s daughter, had appointed her to oversee security during the burial, following directives from Betty Bayo’s husband, Tash.
Wanja emphasised that her responsibility was to ensure that Sky and her brother were supported emotionally and physically, and that the family’s movements were carefully monitored throughout the event.
“Meet Sky Victor 254, The Youngest Commanding Officer I’ve ever served under since I trained. The command came unexpectedly on the evening of Wednesday, 19:00HRS E.A.T., clear, firm and mission-focused. The Principal Family Liaison appointed by Tash 254 was Mr GK, the family Chairman, and Mr G, the logistic Liaison,” she wrote.

Security breach
According to Wanja, the security team faced three attempted breaches during the funeral, all of which were intercepted and contained without incident.
She noted that the operation was conducted with precision, allowing the family to mourn in peace.
“I took my undertaking and assured my Youngest Commander, SKY, that execution will be… NO MATTER WHAT. She was bumper-to-bumper on every movement, issuing silent commands like a pro, and we executed with ZERO BREACH. There were 3 attempted breaches Detected, intercepted CONTAINED,” she wrote.
She added that at the conclusion of the burial, Sky personally thanked her for protecting her mother’s dignity.
“Unshaken. Uncompromising. Even in grief… she commanded. Upon safe retreat, the Youngest Commander stated ‘Thank you for protecting my mum’s dignity on her resting day. You are a real G.S.. Her dad appreciated it too, and others led by close friends DJ MO [topa de top dj] followed… We stand down with Honour, Duty & Precision Intact,” she added.

Betty Bayo, a renowned gospel singer, was laid to rest on November 20, 2025, on her property in Mugumo Estate, Kiambu County.
The event attracted significant attention, prompting the family to implement heightened security measures to prevent disruptions and maintain privacy.
