Vera Sidika shuts down trolls accusing her of wearing fake designer brands
By William Muthama, August 2, 2025Socialite and entrepreneur Vera Sidika has hit back at online critics accusing her of wearing counterfeit designer clothes, terming the accusations baseless and attention-seeking.
Taking to her Instagram stories on Saturday, August 2, 2025, Vera dismissed the claims, maintaining that she only purchases genuine luxury items from official brand stores. The outspoken celebrity was reacting to viral posts claiming she had been spotted buying fake designer products during a business trip to China.
“I DON’T buy fake designers. Y’all already know that. Remind that…I would rather wear Zara till I die,” Vera wrote, adding that she personally pays thousands of dollars for authentic designer items from brands like Gucci and Chanel.

Vera further warned her critics against spreading false narratives, stating she could easily post receipts of her designer purchases if provoked. “If I start posting receipts for my designer items, we won’t finish this matter today or tomorrow,” she said.
Addressing the viral video that triggered the backlash, Vera clarified that the footage was a harmless TikTok dance recorded in a store during her business trip to China. She explained that the visit was strictly for sourcing products for a business venture and had nothing to do with buying counterfeit fashion.
“Oh & btw, business trip to China to source for suppliers’ products for a business venture,” she clarified.
Vera went on to challenge her accusers to provide solid proof of the fake designer items they claim she bought. “I am willing to pay that FOOL $2000 if he can provide evidence of the fake designer items he claims I bought,” she posted, emphasising that the video in question showed her dancing and not making any purchases.
The media personality ended her rant with a sarcastic jab, questioning how a TikTok dance video had been twisted into a narrative about fake designer receipts.
This is not the first time Vera Sidika has had to fend off criticism regarding her flashy lifestyle and fashion choices.
