Vera Sidika quashes speculation about joining YFA reality show

Kenyan socialite and businesswoman Vera Sidika has dismissed swirling speculations claiming she will appear in the Netflix reality series Young, Famous & African (YFA).
The speculation started after a fan excitedly commented on her social media on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, saying, “Can’t wait to see you in YFA… I’m so excited, Vee.”
In her usual candid style, Vera quickly shut down the claims, replying, “Who started this rumor? My feed is full of it, and no, babes, I’m not part of any show at the moment. Nice try, though.” She made it clear that she has no current engagements with the show, despite numerous online posts suggesting otherwise.

About the show and its cast
Young, Famous & African first premiered in March 2022. It has so far released two seasons, with the latest season having dropped in May 2023. The show follows a group of high-profile African celebrities and influencers as they navigate love, friendship, career, and drama, all set against the glamorous backdrop of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The cast has included big names from across the continent, such as Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz, South African rapper Nadia Nakai, Nigerian fashion stylist Swanky Jerry, actress Khanyi Mbau, entrepreneur Zari Hassan, and Ugandan musician Andile Ncube. The mix of personalities, lavish lifestyles, and fiery conflicts has made the show a hit with fans both in Africa and globally.
While Vera Sidika’s lifestyle, fashion sense, and bold personality seem like a natural fit for the high-drama, high-glamour environment of YFA, she insists she is not involved, at least not for now. However, her denial has not stopped some fans from speculating that she could be keeping a surprise appearance under wraps.
For now, Vera remains focused on her ventures, which range from beauty and fashion businesses to her high-profile social media presence.
Netflix has not announced plans for a third season, but given the popularity of the first two, many expect a return. And if Vera were to join in the future, it would certainly give the series a fresh dose of Kenyan star power.
