Digital creator Terence Creative has waded into the discussion which sparked following the interview of TikToker Alma Mutheu and her boyfriend Gift Muziq on Obinna Show.
In a statement, Terence indicated that his wife of 11 years, Milly Chebby supported him for four years without ever complaining.
“Mimi niliwekwa for 4 years plus, my then girlfriend Milly Chebby who is my wife now of 11 years plus, used to pay 98.9% of all our bills,” Terence said.
The humourist with over 3 million followers across various social media platforms also advised female partners in relationships to support their men without losing respect for them until they are stable.
“Hakuna shida boyfriend kuwekwa na girlfriend, ladies if he is not financially stable and you are, support him and respect him until he is stable. Give him your money as the head of the house awapange.Usianike mume wako mbele ya watu. Wacheni kuanika waume zenu ipo siku watakuwa stable na watawaweka, kwa sasa mvumilie na yeye ajitume,” he added.
This came after Alma Mutheu confronted his boyfriend Gift Muziq whom she said she had supported for the last two years, noting that she was tired of shouldering household responsibilities all the time.
Alma Mutheu on providing
“It gets to a certain point as a woman where you get tired of doing everything. It is fine, not everybody is capable, but you cannot stay with a person for a very long time, say three or two years, and you are still providing everything as a woman. Even if it is providing half, that is providing,” Alma Mutheu said.
The brand influencer with over 1.5 million followers across various social platforms said during the interview that she gave Gift Muziq the chance to step up during the initial stages of the relationship, but the musician was coming up short.
“Why am I still paying rent, fueling the car and meeting every other responsibility? Gift Muziq has the ability to level up but he has to be pushed,” Alma Mutheu remarked.
Amid social media calls by Kenyans urging Gift Muziq to abandon the relationship, he expressed confidence in Alma, noting that those predicting doom and gloom had no idea what they had been through.
“A lot will be said but one thing I love about her is that she is very supportive and people do not understand what we’ve been through. She is just someone else,” Gift Muziq remarked.
