Popular social media influencer and photographer Faustine Lipuku, widely known as Baba Talisha, has opened up about his daughter’s health, revealing that she has been diagnosed with multiple neurological and learning conditions.

In an emotional post shared on Instagram on Thursday, July 17, 2025, Faustine said his daughter Talisha has officially been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2, ADHD Combined Type, and Dyslexia.

He said the news comes five years after Talisha survived a near-fatal accident that left her with a severe head injury. Since then, she has undergone extensive therapy and rehabilitation. Faustine described the diagnosis as a moment of heartbreak but also one filled with clarity and love.

“Today, I write this with a heavy heart, but also with a heart full of love. After years of therapy, healing, and beating the odds following a near-fatal accident 5 years ago that left her with a severe head injury… Today, our brave little miracle, Talisha, has officially been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD – Combined Type, and Dyslexia,” he shared.

Adding:

“It shook me. I won’t lie. I cried. I questioned. I broke down. Because as a parent, all you ever want is for your child’s life to be easy… not another mountain to climb.”

Miracle child

Despite the pain, Faustine found strength in his daughter’s resilience. For him, he said the diagnosis does not change who Talisha is. Instead, it brings understanding to the struggles she has been silently battling every single day.

“But then I looked at her and remembered: this girl has never needed a perfect path to shine. She is the light. This diagnosis doesn’t define her. It explains her,” he added.

With the diagnosis, Talisha will now resume occupational and speech therapy, receive specialised educational support, and start prescribed medication to help her cope and function better.

Faustine said this moment marks not an end but a new beginning for their family.

“This is not the end—just a new beginning with answers. We walk forward not weaker, but stronger. Smarter. Ready.”

He also expressed deep gratitude to those who have supported Talisha throughout her journey from the time of the accident to her recovery.

“To all of you who’ve stood with Talisha since her accident, since her first steps back into life, this is another chapter. A different one, yes. But full of the same faith, love, and fight,” he wrote.

Faustine reaffirmed his love for his daughter, calling her a miracle who continues to break the odds every day.

“She is still our miracle baby. She is still breaking odds. And she is not alone.”
