Kibera-bred rapper Stephen Otieno Adera widely known as Stevo Simple Boy can now look for a possible collaboration and partnership with NACADA.
This comes after the bubbly rapper paid a courtesy visit to the agency’s offices in Nairobi and met with one of the officials on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
In a video shared on his Instagram account, Stevo disclosed his visit to the NACADA offices was to discuss how they can save youths from addictiǾn to substance abùse.
“Tumekuja kuwatembelea mimi na msaidizi wangu tuone vile tutasaidiana kwa kazi na tunasema vijana waache mihadarati,” Stevo said.
On the other hand, the NACADA’s representative stated that the agency personnel are exploring possible areas of collaboration and partnerships with the rapper adding that the conversation is still ongoing.
“Sisi kama Nacada tunashukuru kwa kazi nzuri unafanya kwa kuelimisha vijana kuhusu mambo na mihadarati tunashukuru vile umekuja kututembelea ndio tuweze kuangalia vile tunaweza fanya kazi pamoja na baadaye tukishamaliza mazungumuzo tuone kama tunaweza shirikiana kusaidia vijana waache mihadarati,” NACADA official stated.
“This morning we played host to @stevosimpleboy8 and his team where we explored possible areas of collaboration and partnerships…..the conversation is still ongoing.”
Stivo Simple Boy first gained prominence through his song dubbed ‘Vijana Tuwache Mihadarati‘, which went viral in 2019, the song advocates against substance abuse.

Harking back to his music journey, the comic rapper has disclosed that he faced a lot of criticism at the beginning of his career.
He added that he almost got plugged into despair from the numerous online attacks.
“Nilipo anza safari ya mziki nilikumbana na ubagadhuli wakila aina, sehemu kubwa ya izo makakaro zilikuwa za kunikatisha tama. Ila kwa ufungo ufungo nilijipa imani kwechekweche nikatia bidii ivo Mungu kupitia nyinyi mafans wangu alinifungulia milango,” Stevo narrated.
Encouraging his followers not to give up, the self-proclaimed president of the oppressed said that his hard work and resilience have made him a superstar.
