‘Tutatengeneza studio kubwa hivi lini?’ – Ruto wowed after visiting Tyler Perry Studios

President William Ruto on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, visited the largest production studio in Atlanta Georgia.

The head of state who is on a three-day US state tour in accompany of the First Lady Rachel Ruto, other government dignitaries, and content creator cum comedian Eddie Butita could hold back his joy moments after visiting Tyler Perry Studio.

Sharing a light moment with  Butita just after visiting the Studio, Ruto asked the talented creative when the country (Kenya) would build a big production studio similar to Tyler Perry.

“Uko area, sasa tutatengeneza studio kubwa ka hii huko Kenya lini?” he asked the comedian.

“Itabidi soon in the next one or two years,” he replied.

Ruto vs content creators

Kenya’s young talented creatives have taken advantage of the advancement of technology to create unique and viral content.

Recently, the head of state declared the government’s intentions to invest in the development of Kenya’s creative industry.

 Ruto also said that his government has signed agreements with top content distribution companies like Meta, Google, and TikTok to help talented youths in the country to commercialize and monetize their content online.

“We have undergone numerous consultations, and I am pleased with the progress we are making. The content creators have been pushing me on this but today, I am glad that we made a step process of monetization,” Ruto said in March.

Apart from the monetization of digital content produced by Kenya’s creatives, Ruto disclosed that his government has secured international partnerships that will boost the industry’s economy.

Tyler Perry Studios

Tyler Perry Studio (TPS) is an American film production house based in Atlanta Georgia. Founded in 2006, the studio is solely owned by an African-American actor cum filmmaker Tyler Perry and is one of the largest studios in the USA.

He first came to the limelight in 2005 after releasing his first film dubbed “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”.

The multitalented artist was ranked as the sixth highest-paid man in Hollywood by Forbes Magazine in 2009. He has also won dire acclamation for his portrayal of Madea.
