‘Doing this shoot without you was heart wrenching’ – Nazizi remembers son in emotional message

Veteran reggae and hip hop artiste Nazizi Hirji has penned an emotional message to her late son, Jazeel Adam, who tragically passed away on December 25, 2023.

Taking to her Instagram account on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, the award-winning singer shared her family Christmas photo shoot featuring her last son’s portrait reflecting on their last year’s shoot before the sudden death of Jazeel.

“Last year this time we were spending our last moments with our precious @jazeeladam on earth and we didn’t know that in just a few hrs our lives were about to change forever,” she wrote.

In addition, Nazizi disclosed that this year’s family photo shoot session was the hardest for them since her late son made them laugh at every shoot.

“Doing this shoot without you was heart-wrenching we all had our moments of crying during the shoot. There was no one keeping us on toes and making us laugh like you would at every shoot.

“I have no words for what this year without you has been like.I love you so much @jazeeladam we miss you every living second,” she added.

Jazeel’s death

The heartbreaking incident unfolded at a hotel where the family was staying in Tanzania, in a press statement dated December 26, Nazizi said that Jazeel passed on December 25, 2023.

According to the statement, Jazeel was laid to rest on December 26 in Nairobi, due to the religious customs of the family.

The grieving parents expressed the profound sorrow and deepest heartache they are experiencing.

“In these dark times, the light of a child’s life in all its innocence and joy is undeniably the purest. The void left by the loss is immeasurable, and the pain is unbearable,” the statement read.

In an appeal to the public, Nazizi requested privacy and respect during this difficult time, urging the media, fans, and the public to uphold the sanctity of family and the preciousness of life.

“We kindly request everyone to allow Nazizi and her family the space they need to begin the healing process,” the statement continued.

Nazizi also expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support and requested prayers for her family during this incredibly difficult time.

“We kindly remind all entities to refrain from reaching out to the family directly to respect their privacy,” the statement concluded.
