Koku Lwanga shares her healing and rediscovering journey after messy break-up
By Paulette Mboga, November 24, 2025Koku Lwanga has opened up about her personal journey of healing and self-rediscovery.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, November 24, 2025, she revealed that when life takes unexpected turns, people often feel entitled to judge how someone should cope.
Koku said that after her difficult experiences, many speculated about her every action, creating stories about her healing while she was simply trying to process her feelings in peace.

She explained, “Sometimes life takes a turn you never prepared for, and suddenly everyone becomes an expert on how you are ‘supposed’ to cope. I heard it all. That I must have been investigating, praying nonstop, overthinking, breaking down, doing rituals or trying to prove something. It’s interesting how people can create stories about your healing, when all you are trying to do is feel your feelings in peace.” Koku said that healing does not have to be dramatic or visible to others.
Healing through quiet growth and rediscovery
For Koku, healing looked like small, intentional steps to focus on herself and her growth. She said, “Healing doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like choosing to wake up every day and pour yourself into things that remind you of who you are. For me, it looked like burying myself in my books, showing up for my studies, growing my mind and keeping my circle full of people who loved me gently and held me with no judgment.”

She described her journey as rediscovering herself quietly, laughing again, learning again, building again, and becoming again. Koku acknowledged that people will always assume and interpret someone else’s pain in their own way, but she stressed that each person’s journey belongs to them.
She added, “People will always assume. They will always narrate your pain in their own words. But your journey is yours. And you are allowed to process life in your own way. Loudly or silently, slowly or quickly. You are allowed to feel every emotion without explaining it to anyone.”
Koku said her story is about choosing growth and peace intentionally. “This is me choosing growth. Choosing peace. Choosing to rebuild with intention. And if you are going through your own season, I hope you always choose what brings you back to yourself,” she said.
