By Ascah Mwango, August 6, 2025Kenyan singer Julliet Miriam Ayub, alias Jovial, has welcomed her first child with her fiancé, Mike. The couple is celebrating the arrival of their baby boy, whose birth was announced on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Jovial took to Instagram on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, to share the heartwarming news, posting adorable photos showing the tiny hand of her newborn son. She expressed deep gratitude and joy, describing her son as perfect and acknowledging the blessing of motherhood.
“Aww, my son is so cute. He is perfect. Thank you, Lord for this gift,” she wrote.

Stubborn pregnancy
The exciting news comes just weeks after Jovial opened up about the difficult experiences she went through during her second pregnancy. In an Instagram post shared on July 21, 2025, the singer revealed how her first trimester took a toll on her physically and emotionally.
She said the fatigue, nausea and strong aversions to smells and tastes made it hard to take care of herself.
“In my first trimester, I won’t lie, I stayed one week without showering. Those raised in Mombasa, uzuri tunatumiaga maji kwa haja yoyote, so I didn’t smell but yooow! Aibu! In Kuoga first trimester, someone had to drag me to the bathroom, and I used to break down like a child!” Jovial shared.
Even brushing her teeth became a struggle. She explained that the taste of toothpaste triggered her nausea so badly that she had to find alternative ways to keep her mouth clean.
“I’d wake up, put on my body spray and change my outfit. Brushing my teeth, kwanza taste ya toothpaste! I hated throwing up because once I do, I’m gonna have a long horrible day. I had to find ways on how I’ll brush my teeth. Kwa sababu kupigwa kimunju nayo ni lazima! Anyway, salt did it for me, na charcoal powder,” she added.

She also encouraged others who may be going through similar challenges to try charcoal powder or salt if they struggle with toothpaste.
“Try this if you have issues with toothpaste… kunuka mdomo nayo haibambi!” she advised.
Jovial reminded expectant mothers that pregnancy can be different for everyone and urged them not to be hard on themselves.
“What I’m trying to say is take it easy on yourself. Pregnancy is a very difficult journey. Comparing my first pregnancy na hii wuueeeh hii imenitandika proper. If you had it easy, some won’t and it’s ok,” she said.
Adding;
“Sahii naoga lakini I’m slaying with my bump, I put on my makeup, I cook, and I clean. I’m able to post here and there… I remember people asking nimepotea kwa mtandao. I was going through it and I needed time,” she said.
She also said that having the right people around her made a big difference.
