Iyanii’s girlfriend questions men living lavishly without jobs

Iyanii’s girlfriend, influencer Shes Kemunto, has drawn attention after questioning men who live lavish lifestyles despite having no clear source of income.

In a post shared on her Instagram on Monday, October 13, 2025, Kemunto wondered how some men manage to sustain luxury lives without formal work or known businesses.

She questioned why the conversation is often about women being “kept,” yet some men seem to live in similar circumstances.

“Let’s talk about men who don’t work, have nothing going on but live in luxurious apartments paying Ksh80k and above, drive posh cars, drink expensive liquor, party, etc., because it’s always about women this that,” Kemunto wrote.

She went on to ask, “So my question is, what do these men do? Who are their target? Where do they get the money from? Are corporate babes their main target? Are they hustlers or in short wameekwa?”

Kemunto raises questions about men and modern lifestyles

Kemunto continued to ask whether men have also joined the trend of being financially supported, just as some accuse women of doing. “Is there more to this? Are men ‘selling’ now or wamewekwa?” she wrote.

Her remarks have sparked a wider discussion about gender roles, money, and relationships in modern society.

Shes Kemunto has built her image as a social media influencer known for her outspoken personality and lifestyle posts. Her following grew even more after she was introduced to the public by Kenyan artist Iyanii as his girlfriend. The couple has often shared moments online, attracting both admiration and public curiosity.

In her recent post, Kemunto appeared to challenge double standards in how society views financial dependence between genders. She implied that while women are often judged for receiving financial support from men, little is said when men seem to benefit in similar ways.

Her comments opened up questions about the changing dynamics of relationships, where traditional roles are becoming less clear, and financial independence is being viewed differently.

Many Kenyans are increasingly questioning how people sustain certain lifestyles and whether appearance has overtaken hard work and ambition. Through her remarks, Kemunto seems to be calling for honesty and reflection on what modern “hustling” truly means.
