Content creator-cum-rapper Diana Marua has shared encouraging words to her husband singer Bahati after he was told by Jubilee party to step down from Mathare parliamentary race.
Taking to social media, Diana consoled Bahati and encouraged him to focus on the positives ahead for his sake and the people of Mathare.
“Every dark cloud has a silver lining. It’s tough but we shall overcome. @BahatiKenya Stay focused on the greatness that lies ahead of you and the people of Mathare,” Marua wrote.
Bahati who had been awarded a Jubilee ticket was on Monday, April 25 asked to step down in favour of the incumbent ODM’s MP Anthony Oluoch in Mathare parliamentary race.
In a video circulating online, Bahati is seen begging President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga to allow him to contest in the race.
“I wish to appeal to my President Uhuru Kenyatta and Baba Raila Odinga, please give a youth a chance to contest.
“I know Mathare has been zoned as an ODM zone, but for this one time, please give a youth of this country a chance,” Bahati is seen pleading.
“I already had one. These people of Mathare want someone who understands their problems, someone who comes from there,” he added.
