Kenyan socialite and beauty entrepreneur Huddah Monroe has once again claimed that she’s unfamiliar with most local celebrities.
Huddah, who once revealed she didn’t know celebrated rapper Khaligraph Jones, now says she does not know who Masauti is.
In a series of Instagram stories, Huddah confessed that she thought Masauti, known for his Swahili hits, was a band of three or more people much like the famous boy band Sauti Sol.
“One day, I’m chilling with a friend, tumepiga shash mbayaaa, he insists on playing a song by Masauti. I was like, ‘Wanakuwanga Wangapi?’ Dude choked on smoke for like 30 mins. I literally thought Masauti was a music group,” Huddah wrote.
Her confession didn’t stop there. Huddah explained just how deep the confusion went.
“I honestly thought Masauti ni watu watatu & a newer version of Sauti Sol group. Jamani, I’m out of touch.”
Huddah, Khaligraph beef
This isn’t the first time Huddah has claimed not to know her fellow Kenyan celebrities. In 2020, the socialite famously stated she had no clue who Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones was, nor could she name any of his songs.
Khaligraph had slammed Huddah, frustrated that she never picked up his calls. When asked about it in an interview, Huddah casually brushed it off.
“I never pick up calls but I think he is doing well. He won an award but I don’t know any of Khaligraph’s songs,” Huddah said.
She didn’t stop there, though, throwing her support behind Khaligraph’s rival, Octopizzo.
“I know a lot of Octopizzo’s music. Octopizzo is my favourite. He and Nyashinski are my favourite artistes in Kenya. Especially Nyashinski, I was disappointed when he got married, I had a crush on him,” Huddah stated.
This riled up Khaligraph prompting him to release a diss track calling out Huddah.
The socialite is set to come back to Kenya after years of globe-trotting.
