Foi Wambui gets baptised after rededicating her life to God
By Steve Ireri, September 1, 2025Actress Foi Wambui has announced that she is now a born-again Christian after taking a decisive step in her spiritual journey through baptism.
In a post on Instagram on Monday, September 1, 2025, she noted that the decision was the culmination of years of reflection, periods of devotion, and moments of drifting while seeking to fill a Christ-shaped void with other pursuits.
“31 • 08 • 2025 || The one where I got baptised. I was sooooo excited that I couldn’t wait for the pastor to finish for me to say “I do”. 🥹💀😂. I ended August in the best way, by being baptised the Biblical way, through immersion and *after* having already given my life to Christ, which I did about 12 years ago,” she wrote.
She then shared a video from the ceremony, capturing the moment she was immersed in a pool by two men dressed in white.
She could be seen in the video leaping with joy at the point of baptism while congregants and attendees looked on, witnessing her public declaration of faith.
Further, Foi stated that the baptism marked an important milestone in her spiritual life, symbolising obedience, reverence, and a renewed commitment to her faith.
“My walk with God has had its ups and downs: seasons of being deeply devout and serving in ministry, and seasons of drifting and trying to fill the Christ-sized void (that He alone can satisfy) with other things,” she said.
She insisted that this public act was a continuation of her personal journey of rededication and surrender to God, reflecting her devotion and obedience.
She also recalled how, over the last three years, she had been gently drawn back to her faith, with a complete personal re-dedication in early 2025, laying the groundwork for this significant step.
“Yet His love, grace, and mercy never left me. Over the last 3 years, He has been gently drawing me back. Around January 2024, I fully surrendered on my bedroom floor, and a year later, on February 3rd 2025, I re-dedicated my life to Him on the same floor,” she added.
Foi also said that baptism was more of a visible affirmation of her commitment to a lifelong journey of sanctification and spiritual growth.
“This baptism was the best next step of faith and obedience. When you truly experience God’s love, the natural response is obedience, born from a deep reverence for who He is.
She said the experience allowed her to celebrate the transformative power of faith and to inspire others by showing that personal devotion can be embraced and shared publicly.
“Like a wedding ring, this is my public declaration of my faith, my justification and my commitment to a lifelong journey of sanctification with Christ. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect time 🥹💕 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” – 2 Corinthians 5:17.”
