‘Donjo Maber’ hitmaker Iyanii reveals he is still a virgin
By Steve Ireri, September 20, 2025Rising artiste Iyanii has opened up about his personal life, revealing that he remains a virgin and has not been sexually intimate with his current girlfriend, Kemunto, despite being in a relationship.
Speaking during an interview with Alex Mwakideu on Saturday, September 20, 2025, the ‘Donjo Maber’ hitmaker also noted that he had only dated Kemunto for just a week before he introduced her to the public during Mkisii Fest.

He said that before meeting her, he had not been seeing anyone sexually, leaving Alex Mwakideu surprised.
“I have been dating Kemunto for a week now. Since we met, it has only been a week, and my point is that when you meet the right person, you do not need a whole year to get to know each other. Before Kemunto, I was not seeing anyone sexually. By the way, I am still a virgin, and even Kemunto will agree with that. I am 27 years old, and I am serious about it,” Iyanii said.
Iyanii explained that at 27 years old, he has maintained his virginity deliberately, having previously ended relationships with people who expected him to break it.
He said he has remained focused on his music and only pursued a relationship with Kemunto because she respected his boundaries and accepted his decision to abstain from sex.
“The reason I broke up with previous partners was that they wanted me to lose my virginity, which I did not want to do. For now, I still do not want to. I used to tell them that I was focused on my music, and Kemunto accepted that, which is why I am dating her,” he said.
Iyanii added that even now, his physical interaction with Kemunto is strictly limited.
He said they hug, but only for a maximum of five seconds, accompanied by expressions of love and gratitude.
“Even now, we are not having sex. The farthest we go physically is hugging, and even that has rules. The hug is not supposed to last more than five seconds; we just say ‘I love you’ and ‘thank you’ and end it there. I like her personality and the respect she gives me.”
He said he values Kemunto’s personality, her respect, and her laid-back nature, adding that she has shown qualities he rarely encounters in other women.
“Kemunto respects me, and I have not seen that with many women. She is laid-back, and I feel she has a lot of potential. Personally, she is an amazing woman from how I know her.”

The ‘Kifo Cha Mende’ crooner also addressed the curiosity around their social media interactions, noting that while both receive messages from admirers, neither hides anything from the other.
Iyanii said he respects her privacy, rarely checks her phone, and trusts that she respects his in return.
“I know people will talk about her social media being full of messages from admirers, but as public figures, we cannot run away from that. My accounts are also full of messages, and I have nothing to hide. I respect her privacy and rarely check her phone, and she does the same for me. We have nothing to hide from each other.”
