“Alhamdulillah. We’ve taken Our Shahada. This is the beginning of the most beautiful chapter yet!,” she announced.

“I am now a Muslim.”

In addition, the energetic entertainer revealed that her Muslim name is Zziah, while her daughter’s is Liyana.

DJ Kezz’s announcement marks a potentially transformative moment in her personal and spiritual life.

Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna on August 26, 2024, DJ Kezz, while narrating her spiritual journey, revealed that she was excommunicated from the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church when she was a teenager.

“I was 17 years old when I got assąulted and got pregnant, it was an unfortunate insistence, first time going to a club in Eldoret and I was druggēd and then assaulted and I got pregnant. I didn’t tell anybody,” DJ Kezz narrated.

“When finally everybody found out, I don’t blame them you know our church has some regulations. We have very strict rules and it is worse when you go to rural areas. It was worse when I finally realized it was not only the church but also my friends and the community,” she narrated.

“I got ex-communicated and it made me so mad at God which was not even His fault, but how I was treated made me feel so bad. I stopped going to church in 2017 and that’s how I ended up being a club DJ.”

She further stated that in 2020, she embarked on a transformative journey to reconnect with her faith, adding that the lockdown period provided an opportunity for her to use her extraordinary talent as a DJ to share the message of God with the world.

Deejaying career

In addition, she said that her deejaying journey started while on campus where she was going to clubs and fell in love with the art.

“When I went to campus, I was going to parties. I was a young mum. I was going to clubs to get photos and that’s how I came in contact with dejaying. I fell in love with it and that’s where my journey as a DJ started. Ivyo ndio nilisema siwezi fanya ya gospel nitafanya huku ya secular. Almost six years I didn’t step foot into a church, “DJ Kezz said.
