By , September 6, 2025

Kenyan actor Dan Sonko has penned a heartfelt tribute to his late partner, actress Winnie Bwire, widely known by her acting name Dida, on her first death anniversary.

Sonko, in the tribute shared on Friday, September 5, 2025, recalled that exactly a year ago, Bwire took their last breath, saying it still hurts, and he has not gotten used to it.

He further expressed happiness that the departed had lived their best life, that they were part of it, and that there were no regrets, only the weight of unrealised dreams and visions.

The coastal-based actor added that, just as in this life, their loved one should keep winning even in the next.

“To My Awesome Human, Exactly a year ago on this very date, you took your last breath,” Dan Sonko wrote.

Inauma lakini siwezi kuzoea. I am happy that you got to live your best life at every opportunity you had. I am happy that I was a part of your life. I am happy because there are no regrets – just the weights of unrealized dreams and visions.”

“As you did in this life, keep winning even in the next life, my dear.”

A Play in which you were the Original First Lady and I the Original Mr. President. Mom will be here too, and a section of the BNWF Team.
