Chebet Ronoh has shared a new update on her sobriety, saying she has now been alcohol free for “5 months, 4 days” on Friday, December 5, 2025.

The content creator and dancer has been open about the changes she has experienced since she stopped drinking and how her life has shifted during this period.

Ronoh has spoken before about how alcohol affects her behaviour. In August 2025, she explained that alcohol brings out a version of herself that she does not recognise or like. She said that when she is sober, she is peaceful and avoids conflict, but drinking changes her completely.

“The sober me is so chill, so cool, and I never have issues,” she said.

She added that once she takes alcohol, her personality becomes different.

“But when I get drunk, I do not know why, but I become very aggressive. I become confrontational and emotional, and I do not like that version of myself at all. I do not think I can control it,” she said.

She shared these details during an interview with King Kalala and Frankie Justgymit, where she explained the challenges she faced before committing to sobriety. Ronoh said she realised that alcohol made her more emotional than usual and pushed her into situations she would never enter while sober.

Why she chose to stay alcohol free

Ronoh recalled a moment from the past that pushed her to think deeper about her drinking habits. She remembered a viral incident where she ended up in a fight with a man after drinking.

She said the situation started because she assumed her height and size would give her an advantage, something she later understood was a dangerous assumption.

“There was a time I even fought with a guy after drinking, the viral story of mine that was going around,” she said.

The experience made her think more seriously about her safety and the choices she made while under the influence. Ronoh said the habit of becoming emotional and aggressive when drunk made her feel out of control, which is something she wanted to change.

She said the difference between her sober self and her drunk self was too big to ignore. The progress she has now shared marks a personal milestone, and she noted that she likes the direction her life has taken since she stopped drinking.
