Speaking during a candid interview with Alex Mwakideu in an episode aired on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Benachi said that he had travelled to the United States for a tour after being invited to perform at the Talanta Awards.
The Mwanake hitmaker went on to say that he had moved to the U.S. in July for a tour and was scheduled to return at the end of the year, but by December, he had already gotten married.
He explained that he met his wife in October at church, and after three months of courting, they decided to tie the knot.

“Nilifika States July nikapatana na my wife October, tulicourt for three months, then we got married after three months, it was fast, but we are still together,”Benachi revealed.
“Nilienda US tour, nilikuwa nimeitwa invitation kwa tour, kulikuwa na talanta awards na walikuwa na walikuwa wamenipangia tour na nilikuwa supposed kurudi end of the year by hiyo time na hiyo december ndio nilimarry.”
Benachi added that lasting relationships are not always about how long people date before marriage.
“Silazima mvutane kwa miaka ndio muoane,” he noted.
How they met
The multitalented musician further revealed that they met in church while he was on tour, and although he was supposed to return home, things flowed naturally between them.
“Tulipatana kanisani nikiwa kwenye tour mimi nilikuwa nireje huku lakini vitu zikaflow,” he revealed.

Wife’s origin
In addition, Benachi said that his wife is originally from the Kamba community but moved to the United States when she was 11 years old.
“Yeye ni mkamba lakini alienda huko akiwa 11 years,”he disclosed.
The singer and his wife have since built a life together in the U.S., where they have enjoyed ten years of marriage and are blessed with two children, with their union remaining strong despite the short courtship.
