Content creator and singer Bahati’s baby mama, Yvette Obura, has announced that she will no longer be giving away her shoes and clothes to fans.

Through her Instagram stories on Monday, September 8, 2025, Yvette revealed that she is putting a stop to such giveaways after feeling that they painted her in a negative light.

Story za giveaway nimefunga. Huku mnanifanya nakaa simp,” she stated.

Yvette, who has built a strong following online, clarified that while she is open to giving out products and brand items, personal fashion items like clothes and shoes are now completely off the list.

“Products yes, I’ll give away, but shoes/clothes, never ever,” she added.

New car

This comes a few weeks after Obura shared an emotional testimony after buying herself a new car.

In a statement on Instagram on Friday, August 29, 2025, Yvette revealed that the purchase came earlier than she had planned, attributing the achievement to God’s timing and provision.

She admitted that when she first stepped into the car showroom, her intention was only to browse, not to make an immediate purchase. However, she ended up driving away with her new car, a moment that left her both emotional and grateful.

“If you had told me back in March that I’d be here today, I would’ve laughed so hard and called it a joke. But God had bigger, better plans for me,” Yvette wrote.

“Yesterday, I walked into that showroom just to window shop… but I walked out having paid for my car. This wasn’t even supposed to happen now—the plan was November. But when God decides it’s your time, no plan can stand in His way.”

Yvette went on to reflect on her journey, acknowledging that it has not always been easy. She explained that one of her greatest lessons has been learning to move at her own pace without succumbing to pressure or comparisons.

“This journey hasn’t been easy, but one thing I’ve learned is to walk at my own pace. I don’t rush. I don’t compare. I don’t pressure myself. I trust God fully, completely and today, I’m living proof that what God cannot do simply doesn’t exist,” she shared.
