‘My dreams were crushed’ – Bahati says as he recalls past life

Kenyan musician-cum digital content creator Kevin Kioko widely known as Bahati on Monday, June 17, 2024, ventured into his past life.

Taking to his official Instagram page, the father of five, while reintroducing himself to his fans, disclosed that he was orphaned at the tender age of seven and ended up living at a children’s home at ABC Kenya which was then located in Mathare slums in Nairobi county.

Bahati further revealed that life in the slums wasn’t a walk in the park adding that his dreams were crushed and he couldn’t imagine better days ahead.

“Who is Bahati? Orphaned at the age of 7 and ended up at ABC Kenya Children’s Home, then in Mathare slums; My hope was gone, my dreams were crushed and I couldn’t imagine better days ahead. All I knew was that I would live, grow and wait to die in the ghetto; my every dream was crushed,” Bahati revealed.

However, Bahati stated that even though life in the ghetto was unbearable his biggest dream was to have a family of his own.

“My biggest prayer was that someday God would give me a family of my own!,” he said.

Bahati’s blessing

While celebrating his blessings, Bahati thanked God for blessing him with a beautiful family which is envied by many.

He says that his childhood dreams have come to pass since he has been in a seven-year marriage and blessed with five kids.

“Today looking at this video I can’t believe it! I can’t believe God has blessed me with such a beautiful family; So beautiful enough to attract haters 😊 I can’t believe I am now counting 7 years and more in marriage; I can’t believe God has blessed me with such beautiful kids 🧒 👦 🧒 So beautiful that some of you mnaonanga siwezi produce vitu safiii hivi 😎 But imagine waseee hivi ndio God amebless huyu Kijana Wa Ghetto!”Bahati said.

Music vs Film

Bahati who has a reality TV show dubbed ‘The Bahati Empirestreamed at the international distributing film company Netflix featuring his family and close friends disclosed that he is still on the top of his game musically even after quitting the gospel industry.

“Truly I have seen God in my life. From being Kenya’s Most Celebrated Gospel Artist na bado hii pande ingine nawakimbiza 😉Si ata nyinyi mnajua sijatoa ngoma mwaka mzima but bado nazoza,” Bahati celebrated.

He says their reality show is the most-watched Kenyan program on Netflix.

“I just ventured into the film industry and I can’t believe that we have the most-watched Kenyan TV show on @Netflix. Glory to God! This is just the beginning… This is my story,”he  said.
