Grief has engulfed yet again the family of slain Embu brothers who died in the hands of police in Kianjokoma.
On Tuesday, August 24, the deceased’s grandmother passed on.
This has been confirmed by the family spokesman Felix Njagi who said she died of depression suspected to have been brought about by the untimely deaths of her grandchildren.
Felix said Gladys Embu ,94, did not attend the burial of her two grandsons because she was not able to withstand the loss.
“She was a strong woman but after learning of the deaths of her two grandsons, she came to the homestead and after seeing the grave she closed her eyes and never spoke to anyone again,” Felix revealed.
She was rushed to Runyenjes Level 4 hospital for check up but she passed on while receiving treatment.
She is the mother of Catherine Wawira who is mother of the two deceased brothers.
Njagi termed the death as a great loss to the family and urged members of public to remember the family in prayers.
