A Bachelor’s of Commerce student at Kenyatta University on Friday revealed to a Nairobi court that he has been a frequent consumer of bhang leaving the courtroom in awe, a habit his parents dint know about.

Evans Mutinda publicised his affection for smoking bhang at the Milimani courts, prompting Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi to pose a question to Mutinda’a parents who were present in the courtroom if they knew their son engaged in smoking bhang.

This comes after the student acknowledged being in possession of 500 grams of bhang around Globe Cinema compelling police officers on patrol to arrest Mutinda  on August 7,2021.

Mutinda’s mother informed the court that they reside together with his son and all along he has never seen nor noticed him smoking bhang or engaging in drug related activities.

Due to Mutinda’s revelation subsequently prompted Andayi to remand him at Industrial Area Remand Prison to enable a probation report to be tabled in court before he sentences him.

The case shall be mentioned on September 18, 2021.
