Popular Wadagliz’s music video ‘Anguka Nayo’ has been removed from YouTube.

The song which had amassed a total of 8 million views at the time of the removal was recently featured on Google’s most searched items in Kenya.

The reason for the removal of the viral hit song was yet to be revealed at the time of publishing this article. The song owners are also yet to react to the new development.

According to data released by search engine Google on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the famous song was categorised under trending lyrics.

From being a protest anthem during the Gen Z demonstrations that rocked the country for the better part of June this year to a renowned hit that made waves globally, the song became a popular tune that resonated with many.

The song was coined from two Swahili words that loosely translate to ‘drop with it’ and its beats were borrowed from DJ Creme’s ‘Kufa Juu’.

Speaking during a recent interview, the group acknowledged that the song was compiled from cuts of their low-budget video shoot.

They also disclosed that despite not expecting the song to blow up, they hoped to create music that people could dance to and feel good.

“We just wanted to create something that people could dance to and feel good about,” Kantel Mdagliz, one of the group members said.
