President William Ruto has said that the deadly Tuesday demonstrations were caused by criminals pretending to be protesters.

Ruto who addressed the nation from State House, Nairobi on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, stated that the protesters were attacked by an organized criminal entity.

He said the government has mobilised all resources at its disposal to thwart a recurrence of such deadly demonstrations in the country.

The Head of State has condemned the incident, noting that Kenya’s security organs are working to thwart any further attacks by the criminals who reigned terror on protesters.

Ruto thanked the security organs for doing their best to defend Kenyans.

“I thank our security officers who were on duty today for applying themselves to the best of their abilities in the defence of Kenya and its people. I have directed all organs of our national security to thwart any attempt by criminals to undermine the security and stability of Kenya,” Ruto said.
