Police officers in Webuye, Bungoma County have arrested 21 teenagers whom they busted at an alcohol-filled hotel party.

Bungoma East OCPD Valerian Obore said police officers were tipped off by members of the public about the minors’ party.

Police said the minors were all under 18 years, the legal drinking age. Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to buy or consume alcohol in Kenya.

Obore called on parents to be more vigilant and monitor their children’s whereabouts especially now during this long school holiday.

“Get to know where your children are. This is what is causing rampant teenage pregnancies and many children into drugs,” cautioned the police boss.

Their arrest comes barely days after 44 teenagers were arrested in a Nairobi house at a drug-filled party.
