Githunguri Member of Parliament ( MP) Gathoni Wamuchomba has joined a section of Kenyan legislatures and public figures in demanding the release of abductees suspected to be behind the ongoing anti-Finance Bill protest.

Wamuchomba on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, questioned why the current regime is abducting Kenyans who are exercising their democratic rights contrary to their pledge not to execute extra-judicial killings.

The vocal legislature further called out the police for invading the homes of the social influencers and activists in the wee hours to kidnap and intimidate them.

“Why is the Government of Kenya abducting our Sons and daughters? I join Mothers of Kenya to remind the Kenya Kwanza Government of their pledge to no more extra-judicial killings in Kenya,” Wamuchomba said.

“The masked police are invading homes in the wee hours to kidnap and send fear. Where are these children you kidnapped this morning? We mothers of Kenya shall not allow you. Release our children. Don’t kill our children,” she said.

This morning, activist Boniface Mwangi revealed that he has received news of the kidnapping of four social influencers suspected by the government of being part of the anti-Finance Bill protest.

The activist stated that Franje, Osama Otero, Drey Mwangi and Gabriel Ogutu were abducted in the wee hours.

“Good morning, we are waking up to the news of many abductions of citizens the government suspects of being involved in #RejectFinanceBill2024, “Boniface Mwangi disclosed.

Boniface further called for legal action to be taken against the perpetrators.

“@LawSocietyofKe    you need to sue  @KindikiKithure     in his personal capacity for the state abductions! Noordin, Koome, & Amin, release them!” he said.

Anti-Finance Bill demos

The countrywide anti-Finance Bill demonstration is in its second week after a section of legislatures okayed the second reading of the controversial Bill despite public rejection.
