Trans Nzoia MPs rally behind Ruto, rebuke Natembeya’s 2027 ambition
By K24 Digital Reporter, October 10, 2025Trans Nzoia County Members of Parliament have declared their full support for President William Ruto’s second-term bid in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Friday, October 10, 2025, during the commemoration of Mazingira Day, the lawmakers, led by Maurice Kakai Bisau, the Kiminini Constituency lawmaker, said their support for President Ruto is based on his track record and achievements in his first term.
“I have no doubt in my mind that President William Ruto will secure a second term. We are pretty sure that the people of Kenya will elect him again because what he has achieved is amazing,” Bisau said.
This comes amid Ruto’s plan to woo his staunch critics to his camp with his bag of goodies the latest political leader to join the broad-based arrangement being the Kenya African National Union (KANU) chairman, Gideon Moi.
Elsewhere, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula rallied Western residents to back Ruto in 2027.
In what could be a blow to Natembeya’s ambition of uniting the Mulembe nation for the 2027 polls, the county boss now faces a big test to fulfil his dream for the country’s top seat as the united opposition bigwigs continue to deliberate on who will stop Ruto’s re-election plan.
On his part, Endebess Constituency legislator, Robert Pukose, took a swipe at some local politicians who have been politicising development projects initiated by the National Government in the cosmopolitan County.
“Trans Nzoia is home to every community, and therefore let us leave behind petty politics because they derail development. We are all united and we will support Ruto’s re-election,” Pukose said.

Their sentiments were echoed by Kwanza MP, Ferdinand Wanyonyi, who lauded the policies and programmes of the current regime.
“SHA is working, implementation of the affordable housing is progressing well, and food security is now a reality in Kenya. Those are some of the achievements of our president and his government,” Wanyonyi stated.
As the MPs continue to blast Natembeya and ramp up support for Ruto, Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Habitat, Susan Nakhumicha, also jolted unnamed politicians who she said are against his campaign for Ruto’s second term bid.
“Some people have been saying that I should not do politics because I am a politician. I am telling them that I will do politics because politics is life. President William Ruto must serve Kenya for two terms,” said the envoy.
Former Kiminini Constituency Member of Parliament, Chris Wamalwa, also asked the residents of Trans Nzoia to support President William Ruto’s administration.
