The traffic officer who was, on Wednesday, caught on camera forcefully entering a motorist’s vehicle along Kenyatta Avenue through the window has been subjected to disciplinary action, the National Police Service has revealed.

In the video circulating online, the police officer and his colleague were seen standing by a stationary vehicle before the accused officer started asking the motorist to let him in.

The driver, from the subsequent actions of the officer, appears to have remained adamant about the cop’s calls forcing the man in blue to devise his own way of gaining access. The officer is later captured sitting on the driver’s seat as they continue to argue with the car owner.

Following the incident, the police employer has noted that the officer went against the police service’s code of conduct in dealing with the motorist, therefore, forcing the service to subject the officer to disciplinary action.

“The said officer has been positively identified and is undergoing disciplinary action. We reiterate that it is imperative for individual police officers to discharge their mandate professionally, diligently and with high levels of discipline,” the police service said.
