Thika-based socialite and vlogger Esther Migwi has told Kenyans to be careful about harbouring hate against one another, especially over political opinions shared online.

In a video posted on her TikTok account on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Migwi said many of the arguments people see on social media are scripted and driven by personal interests, not genuine beliefs.

Migwi’s message to Kenyans

Migwi warned that most political fights on social platforms are staged by people who are either paid or working on behalf of political figures.

She urged Kenyans to stop holding grudges against neighbours or friends just because of differing political opinions.

“Kenya karibu kila mtu ako kazi, na mfanye research, si ni ukweli,” Migwi said. “Unastukia hata bloggers kuna wenye ulipwa.

Unaskia hii week mtu anatusi gava, next week anaanza kupost zile projects gava imefanya. Kila mtu ako kazi.”

Migwi added that people should stop being emotional about politicians and focus instead on building their lives. She reminded her followers that poverty, not political differences, is the real enemy.

“Usichukie neighbour wako simply because anapenda mtu wewe haupendi. Mind your own business. Hii Kenya, poverty is the enemy,” she said.

“Stop pretending to be righteous”

Migwi also challenged Kenyans who claim they can never support a politician even if offered money, saying most of them only speak from a point of privilege.

“Na unaskia kamtu kakisema mimi siwezi support mtu ata nipewe nini.

Nivile hauna chance ya kupewa pesa. Imagine mama mboga upewe Ksh100K? Utachagua mwenye anakupea pesa, nivile watu utaka kujifanya hypocrite,” Migwi said.

The content creator further accused politicians of using Kenyans’ emotions for strategy and distraction, citing recent political events that she claimed were designed to divert attention from important national issues.

“Juuzi tulikua tunaomboleza Baba (Raila) vizuri, politicians wakakuja na strategy. Kamtu kamoja kakaambiwa enda useme hivi ili Wakenya wasahau mambo ya bill,” she added.

Migwi’s message has since attracted hundreds of comments online, with many Kenyans agreeing that the country’s online political spaces have become too toxic and manipulated by moneyed interests.
