Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala on Monday said that he will not be intimidated or threatened to change his stance on the third-basis revenue sharing bill.

Senator Malala, who addressed the press from the window of his house in Kitengela, accused the state security services of being used to intimidate him over his stance on the revenue formula that has divided the Senate right in the middle.

Malala, who has locked himself in his house and defied summons from criminal investigations officers camped at his home, said the move to arrest him is illegal since they have not notified him of the reason for the arrest.

The senator said that over 20 armed officers went knocking on his door at 3 am on Monday morning, accusing them of failing to identify themselves.

He said he knew something was amiss when his security officers were immediately recalled.

However, Malala said the officers identified themselves as Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives but refused to show their identification papers.

The detectives said they were acting on orders from above.

Further, Malala said the officers disconnected his electricity and water.
