Salasya says he has put his life on hold to fully focus on 2027 presidency
By Mustafa Juma, July 17, 2025Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the 2027 presidential race.
Taking to his official X account on the night of Thursday, July 17, 2025, Salasya stated that he has put his personal life on hold to fully pursue the highest seat in the land.
In a passionate reflection shared with the public, Salasya compared his current focus to the sacrifice he made from 2017 to 2022, when he devoted his life to winning his parliamentary seat.
“2022, before the election, when I visited my friend in Nairobi, and the 2025 July photo. I want to work hard to get the presidency and make sure every youth lives his dream. I have now stopped my life and focused on the presidency in 2027, the way I stopped my life from 2017 to 2022 to get an MP seat,” Salasya stated.
Salasya on dreams
Salasya emphasised that dreams are not just to be wished for but to be worked for.
“It’s good to dream, and it’s healthy to work towards the dream. Only risk takers make it,” he wrote on X.
The legislator also shared a personal reflection on his journey, contrasting a photo of himself from 2022—before being elected MP—with a recent one from July 2025. The visual comparison, he said, reminds him of the power of focus, faith, and resilience.

With less than two years to the next general election, Salasya’s declaration signals that his campaign machinery is already shifting into high gear.
Though often dismissed by critics as ambitious and unconventional, Salasya insists that his candidacy represents the dreams of ordinary Kenyans—especially the youth—who have long felt excluded from the corridors of power.
Salasya’s ambition
The lawmaker has since promised to make Kenya an industrial country if he wins the presidency in 2027.
The outspoken politician emphasised implementing great projects once he assumes power in the next general election.
“I will bring hope through industrial development as part of my 2027 presidential campaign strategy,” Salasya asserted on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
As part of his presidential campaign, Salasya insisted that civic education in Kenya is vital since it enhances public understanding and engagement with the Constitution and governance, aligning with his efforts to inform and mobilise citizens, potentially leveraging Molo’s economic and demographic context to build support for his vision of making Kenya an industrial country.
