While President William Ruto was unable to attend in person, he made his presence felt by sending Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah to purchase goats with Ksh3.5 million.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki also contributed Ksh1.5 million, while both Governor Cecily Mbarire and Ichung’wah each spent Ksh500,000 on goats. The collective show of generosity was not only aimed at supporting local traders but also reaffirmed the government’s development agenda in the region under the UDA banner.
Governor Mbarire, who spearheaded the event, rallied residents to support Muthende, describing him as the right leader for the constituency.

“Muthende is the only candidate you can trust. He has the vision, leadership skills, and energy to take Mbeere North forward,” she said.
Mbarire emphasised that having a leader aligned with the government would ensure more development projects are implemented in the area.

Mbarire’s rallying call
“With Muthende, we will ensure that our children have better schools, our farmers better markets, and our youth more job opportunities. You cannot get these things in the opposition,” she added.
Ichung’wah echoed her sentiments, underscoring the importance of staying aligned with the ruling administration.
“The people of Mbeere North know that their progress lies in working with the government. We have seen new roads, schools, and farmer support programs. This is just the beginning,” she noted.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku also attended the event and dismissed opposition candidate Newton Karish, saying the region had already made its choice.
“The people of Mbeere North know their future lies in the hands of the government. The opposition may try, but they are far from winning this seat. The momentum is with the government and will stay with the government,” Ruku declared.
More than ten Principal Secretaries and heads of parastatals also graced the auction, marking one of the biggest political events in the constituency this year.
As the political contest heats up, all eyes will remain fixed on Mbeere North. The result will be a defining moment not only for the region but for the future direction of Kenya’s political landscape.
