Wednesday blackout to affect Nairobi, 6 other counties

The Kenya Power Company has announced a power outage which is set to affect 7 counties on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Nairobi County

From 9 am to 5 pm, these areas will be affected by a blackout.

Kasarani Police station, ICIPE Office, Complex View Est, Sports Drive Est, KISE, Kasarani DO’s Office, Kasarani Seasons, PCEA Church, Jaylen Academy, Mwihirigo, Warren Factory, Kings College, Queens of Apostle Church, CITAM Church & adjacent customers.

Also, theĀ  Runda Mimosa area will experience similar power interruptions.

Ruaka Groove, Runda Groove, Runda Rd, Eluid Mathu, Runda Riviera, Puffin Drive, Pan Africa Insurance, Runda Mumwe, Glory Rd, Mimosa Ridge, Mimosa Groove, Mimosa Drive, Mimosa Rd, Mimosa Vale, Mae Ridge, Andrew & Elia Zagoritis, Part of Northern Bypass, Runda Water, Two Rivers & adjacent customers.

Embu County

Power interruptions will be witnessed in these Embu County’s Masinga, Ekalakala areas from 9 am to 5 pm.

Kwa Kingoli, Kiimani, Masinga Boys, Masinga Mkt, Wendano, Kakuku, Ekalakala, Kathini, Isyukoni, Kiangeni, Masinga Bible College, Mutwamwaki & adjacent customers.

Meru County

These areas around Kongo Acheke in Meru will experience power interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm.

Kongo Acheke, Kirwai C/Fact, Munithu Girls, Munithu Molo, Kienderu Mkt, Kambiti Pri, Kambiti market and adjacent customers.

Nyeri county

In Nyeri county these areas will face a blackout from 8 am to 5 pm in the evening.

Karindundu C/Fact, Karindundu Primary School, Kiangogoyo Village, Kiahiti Village, Kirimara High School, Muchohi Village, Gitumbi Village, Ndima-Ini market, Ndima-Ini C/Fact, Kahuta-Ini Village, Ndima-Ini Safaricom & Airtel Boosters, Muhaka-Ini Village, Njororoma Village and adjacent customers.

However, at Kamatogu area the power interruptions will begin at 9 am to 5 pm in the following areas.

Kamatongu, Muthiga Garden, Gen Karangi, Honi Resort, Aberdare County Club, Mwereri, Jersery Farm, Mweiga Blooms, PCEA Honi Prayer Centre, Flora Farm, Mweiga Town, Endarasha, Watuka, Charity, Kimunyuru, Embaringo and adjacent customers.

Nakuru County

In Nakuru’s Barnabas, Mbaruk area, the following places will experience a power outage from 9 am to 5 pm.

Barnabas, Green Stead, Mbaruk, Kingururia, Punda Milia, East Gate, Kwa Senior, Machine, Roots Academy, Umash, Royal Est, Pro Gas and adjacent customers.

Siaya County

In Siaya, the following areas will experience a power interruption from 9 am to 5 pm.

Mbaga Girls school, Mbaga Mission, Nyachwinya, Boro market, Mulaha, Hawinga, Udamayi, Sidundo, Nyalaji, Gangu, Rasugu and adjacent customers.

Isiolo County

The following areas in Isiolo County will experience a blackout from 9 am to 5 pm.

Mutunyi, Daichi Farm, Maili Nane, Asili Millers, Kweroga, Mungania, Munanda Pri, Meru Highland Technical, Nkado, Kamuketha, Ntumburi, Matunda, Lewa Conservancy, Manyangaro Pri, Part of Subuiga and adjacent customers.

The power company says the interruptions will enable scheduled maintenance to take place in these areas.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Kenya Power stated.
