A 53-year-old night guard was on Monday, August 9, attacked and killed by robbers in Kisumu.

The incident happened at dawn.

The alleged robbery with violence report was made by John Juma, a manager at Alva Bar and Restaurant at Lela village within Kisumu West Sub- County.

Confirming the incident, Kisumu County Police Commander Samuel Anampiu said that as Juma reported on duty, he found their night security guard lying dead on the corridor with blood oozing from his mouth.

“My officers from Maseno police station and DCIO Kisumu West visited the scene and established that the man identified as Francis Idiot had a cut wound on his chin,” he said.

The police boss also confirmed that the bar was broken into by cutting the padlock and sh.20,000 with various brands of alcohol whose value is yet to be established were also stolen.

The body of the deceased was driven to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching And Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) mortuary awaiting postmortem.
