Ndiritu Muriithi: How to report harassment from KRA staff

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Chairperson Ndiritu Muriithi has called on the public to speak up in the case of unfair treatment or misconduct by a Kenya Revenue Authority staff.
The KRA chair, while speaking to a local media house on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, highlighted the importance of reporting such incidents, further adding that it is the right of every citizen to report mistreatment.
Muriithi noted that the Authority has a platform where members of the public can share details of harassment anonymously.
“We have an anonymous platform where you can tell us things about ourselves without us really knowing who you are,” the KRA chair explained.
Further adding that the platform is called Eyewhistle. “We encourage our customers to let us know using that platform,” stated Ndiritu.

Previous cases reported to KRA
Similarly, while still encouraging Kenyans not to shy away from reporting misconduct and harassment cases, the Chair recounted the number of past complaints made to the Authority.
According to Ndiritu, at least nine hundred cases were reported in 2024, including action taken on up to forty-five KRA staff members.
“Last year we got nearly nine hundred different blown whistles that enabled us to do quite a number of things, including taking action on up to forty-five staff,” noted Ndiritu.
Notably, he further revealed that six of the nine hundred cases reported resulted in six employees being fired.
“Various kinds of action, including six separation,” he added.
