Makueni County Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr now says the government cannot operate without former Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management Moses Kuria.

Speaking on Saturday, July 27, 2024, the county h**d praised Kuria’s intellectual abilities adding that his immense efforts have contributed tremendously to the country’s election system.

While highlighting the ex-CSs contributions to government, the governor wondered how the President William Ruto-led administration would operate without his contributions, considering his apt capabilities to steer the country towards the right direction.

Kilonzo additionally reminisced how Kuria foretold the results of the 2022 General Elections through his knowledge in the electronic management of elections.

“I don’t know how a government can operate without Moses Kuria, ile sheria ambayo imeweka serikali vile iko sasa ya electronic management of elections imefanywa na huyu mtu. When I wanted to know whether Azimio would win, I went to visit Moses Kuria, thats when I knew Azimio would lose, this is a good brain,” he said.

Kuria was among the CSs sent packing on Thursday, July 11, 2024, after President William Ruto dissolved his cabinet to pave room for the formation of a broad-based government.

“Upon reflection, listening keenly to what the p****e of Kenya have said and after a holistic appraisal of the performance of my Cabinet and its achievements and challenges, I have, in line with the powers given to me by Article 152(1) and 152(5)(b) of the Constitution and Section 12 of the Office of the Attorney-General Act, decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney-General from the Cabinet of the Republic of Kenya except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs,” Ruto announced at the time.

In the recent reconstitution of the cabinet, the president only retained Aden Duale (Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry), Kithure Kindiki (Ministry of Interior and National Administration), Davis Chirchir (Ministry of Roads and Transport), Alice Wahome Alice Wahome (Lands, Public Works Housing and Urban Development), Soipan Tuya  (Ministry of Defence), and Rebecca Miano (Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife), Alfred Nganga Mutua (Ministry of Labour and Social Protection), Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen (Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports) and Justin Bedan Njoka (Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development).

The H**d of State also nominated a section of opposition leaders including; John Mbadi Ng’ongo( National Treasury and Economic Planning), Hassan Ali Joho (Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs), Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya (Ministry of Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development) and James Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum).
