Mosiria calls for protection of young girls following Alicia Kanini’s explicit video

Nairobi County Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has condemned what he terms a disturbing trend of moral decay, following the circulation of an explicit video involving adult content maker Alicia Kanini.

In a statement on Thursday, July 17, 2025, Mosiria expressed deep concern over Kanini’s decision to publicly share a nude and sexually explicit video, calling it “morally degrading” and “dangerous to the values of Kenyan society”.

“It is deeply concerning that Alicia Kanini has chosen to publicly share a nude and morally degrading video that openly exposes her inappropriate sexual behaviour. Even more troubling is the silence and celebration from some quarters, as if such acts deserve praise,” he said.

“As a society, we must ask ourselves, what message are we sending to our young girls and future generations? Are we endorsing obscenity and immorality as acceptable forms of expression?” he posed.

He called for reflection and accountability, warning that glorifying such content risks normalising behaviour that threatens the moral fabric of the nation.

“Obscenity is not just a moral concern; it is a criminal offence under Kenyan law. According to the Kenyan Penal Code, Chapter 63, Section 181: Any person who makes, produces, or has in his possession for the purpose of sale or exhibition any one or more obscene writings, drawings, prints, or any other object tending to corrupt morals is guilty of a misdemeanour,” he said.

“How I wish this law could be applied to help protect many of our girl children from being inspired into such actions,” he added.

This comes shortly after the adult content creator urged Kenyans not to judge her because of her actions, as she is aware of what she is doing.

Speaking on a TikTok live video on Thursday, July 17, 2025, Kanini stated that regardless of her actions, she has a connection and bond with God.

“I know what I am doing. Whatever I am always doing doesn’t guarantee that you will judge me for not being saved. I know what I am doing; it leads to a lot of stigma and criticism, but that doesn’t mean that the connection and the bond I am having with God are not there,” she said.
