Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa of the Kingdom of Morocco has arrived in Kenya for a three-day working visit, marking a significant moment in Kenya-Morocco relations and humanitarian collaboration in health.

In a statement on November 4, 2025, the State Department of Foreign Affairs announced that the Moroccan princess, well-known for her advocacy for people with hearing impairments, will jointly preside over a Cochlear Implant Medical Mission alongside Kenya’s First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto.

The mission aims to transform the lives of children suffering from hearing loss by providing access to advanced medical interventions.

“During her visit, Her Royal Highness and the First Lady will jointly preside over a cochlear implant medical exercise targeting approximately 70 children with hearing impairments,” read the statement in part.

“As part of her foundation’s contribution, Princess Lalla Asmaa has donated 58 cochlear implants and seven surgical kits to support this important medical mission.”

“Karibu Kenya, Your Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa of the Kingdom of Morocco. This visit is a reflection of the warm friendship between our two nations and our shared commitment to community uplift initiatives, particularly in the areas of health, education, and child empowerment,” read the statement in part.

“It is an honour to host you, Your Royal Highness, and I look forward to productive engagements during your stay in Kenya.”

Princess Lalla Asmaa’s foundation, established in 2002, focuses on promoting education, integration, and healthcare for children with hearing impairments. It runs several centres in Morocco that provide hearing aids, speech therapy, and educational support to children who have undergone cochlear implant surgery.
