A man who stole 20 toilet flashing knobs at Kenya Re-insurance Plaza along Taifa road claims an officer at Central Police Station stole his Rolex watch after arresting him.

Ismael Ben Otieno Ouma was arraigned at Milimani Law Courts and charged with stealing 20 toilet flashing knobs valued at Ksh100,000.

He is alleged to have committed the offence on May 12, 2019, at the Plaza.

He however absconded court and was arrested again last week after the court issued a warrant of arrest.

Appearing before Nairobi Principal Magistrate David Ndugi, the accused pleaded guilty to the offence of stealing the knobs and handling stolen goods

The prosecution requested time to allow them to bring the exhibits to court before reading the facts of the case to the accused ahead of sentencing.

Interestingly, the accused, immediately after the court ordered him to be remanded at the Central Police Station, told the court that he be taken to a different police station “kuna officer anaitwa Dan alichukua watch yangu naomba anirudishie. Prisoners walikua witness alisema anaenda kuiandikisha hakuandikisha” said the accused

Court has ordered the OCS Central Police Station to investigate the allegations by the accused and appear in court on June 3, with a filed report on the same issue.
