Light moment as Ruto dances with students in Nakuru

There was a light-hearted moment at the Nakuru State Lodge when President William Ruto joined students to dance during the 63rd National Drama and Film Festival.
In a video seen by K24 Digital, the president is seen heartily dancing to reggae beats alongside the students, who cheered him on as he showed his dance moves.
The dance followed after Ruto’s speech where he commended the students for a job well done and praised the festival describing it as a powerful platform for shaping national identity and highlighting social issues as well as nurturing talent.

“This festival is not just about entertainment. It’s a powerful platform for shaping national identity, highlighting social issues and nurturing talent,” he said.
He also congratulated all the participants, encouraging them to keep using their voices and creativity for the greater good.
“I congratulate all the participants and encourage you to keep using your voices and creativity to tell the stories of our nation,” the president added.
The annual concert which is usually held at State House, usually marks the final of the Kenya National Schools Drama and Film Festival.
This year’s festival was marred with controversy following the Butere Girls’ play ‘Echoes of War’ which sparked debate after police teargassed the students as they were leaving the venue.
