The brothers of Langoni Kajembe, the daughter of former Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe, have told K24 Digital that their sister suffered shock after their father died two weeks ago.
Langoni Kajembe died aged 46 at Pandya Hospital on Wednesday night (August 19).
Sudi Ramadhan Seif and Harun Kajembe, the siblings of the Late Langoni, say their sister was taken ill immediately after their father succumbed to COVID-19 on August 7.
“She was seriously affected by our dad’s death. Langoni and dad were so close. So, when our parent died, Langoni suffered great shock, which led to her hospitalisation,” said Harun.
The trauma, which lasted nearly two weeks, contributed to Langoni’s death, said the deceased’s brother.
“Her time to rest had reached. We cannot blame anyone or an ailment on her death. When one’s time to depart this earth reaches, it does not matter whether he or she is a billionaire or a trillionaire; death, for him or her, would be inevitable. God has taken her from us, but, as we say, God’s plan is unchangeable,” said Sudi.
The Kajembe family spokesperson, Mbaruk Juma, told K24 Digital that Langoni, who had previously tested positive for COVID-19, had been declared virus-free, and was being treated for trauma, when she died.
“She had previously tested positive for coronavirus disease, but got healed after undergoing treatment,” said Juma.
Several reports by doctors indicate that when a person is in shock, his or her organs aren’t getting enough blood or oxygen. If untreated, this can lead to permanent organ damage or even death.
Burial plans were held Thursday afternoon at Langoni’s home in Mikindani, Changamwe Constituency.
The deceased, who worked as a manager at Shimoni Port in Kwale County, is survived by a 17-year-old son.
Langoni was the fourth member of the Kajembe family to die in the last five months. Her father, Ramadhan Kajembe, died on August 7, 2020; her mother, Aziza Kajembe, who was Kajembe’s first wife, passed away on July 24, 2020; and her step-mother Zaharia Kajembe (Kajembe’s second wife) died on March 3, 2020.
Langoni was the second-born in a family of ten children by Kajembe and Aziza. She has six other step-siblings.
