Kindiki, Wetangula arrive in Algeria ahead of key African Trade Fair
By Cynthia Lodite, September 4, 2025Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has arrived in Algeria ahead of a key Intra-African Trade Fair held in Algiers on behalf of President William Ruto.
Kindiki is accompanied by National Assembly speaker Moses Wetangula.
In a statement released by the National Assembly speaker on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Wetangula acknowledged that they are attending the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair alongside a Kenyan delegation.
“Arrived in Algiers, Algeria, for the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair alongside a Kenyan delegation led by Deputy President H.E. (Prof.) @KindikiKithure,” Wetangula said.
According to Wetangula, the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair seeks to enhance awareness of the AfCFTA’s transformative potential for Africa’s economic future.
In addition, part of the discussions at the fair is expected to help come up with clear and practical recommendations to accelerate regional economic integration.

Wetangula has noted that part of the high-level trade fair will be a presidential roundtable, which is expected to focus on how Africa can harness the AfCFTA to unlock its full economic potential and address structural and policy constraints that will catalyse industrialisation, innovation, and inclusive growth.

Notably, the high-level continental trade fair brings together heads of state, business leaders, and policymakers to deepen Africa’s economic integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Kindiki will deliver Kenya’s statement, engage in bilateral talks with fellow leaders, and showcase Kenya’s opportunities in manufacturing, agriculture, ICT, energy, housing, and services, in line with President Ruto’s agenda of making Kenya the trade and investment hub of Africa.
