Kenya Power announces blackout affecting 8 counties

Kenya Power has announced a power outage that will affect at least eight counties on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

In a statement on Monday, June 10, 2024, the utility company announced the blackouts would affect the following areas on Tuesday;

Kiambu County

From 8 am to 5 pm, the Kiambu’s, Murram Road areas will experience power outages.

Similarly, the Slopes Villa Izaak Walton area will be affected by the routine maintenance.

Nyeri County

The other County set to experience a blackout is Nyeri with Tetu, Gitero and Muthuani areas being listed.

Muranga County

Gatitu and Gaichanju areas will experience electricity interruptions from 9 am to 5 am.

Uasin Gishu County

The whole of Moi University’s main campus will experience a blackout from 9 am to 4 pm.

Also, Moi Primary, Chebaiywo, Tulop village and adjacent areas will also face interruptions.

Busia County

Most parts of Malaba Town including the KPLC offices will experience a power outage. Also, the KEMRI, KEFRI and Adungosi police station will witness power interruption.

Kisii County

From 7 am to 1 pm areas of  Emboga, CITAM, Kisii Garage, Bosongo Hospital and adjacent areas will experience power outages.

Homa Bay County 

From 9 am to 4 pm, areas of Ndisi, Kodumbe and adjacent areas will experience power interruptions.

Kitui County

From 9 am to 5 pm, the areas of Kwa Vonza, Seku University Kyusiani, Muselele and adjacent areas will experience a power outage.
