Kenya Power announces blackout in parts of 7 counties on Tuesday, November 25

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power maintenance affecting parts of seven counties across the country on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

In a post on X on Monday, November 24, 2025, the utility firm notified residents of planned outages to allow engineers to carry out essential upgrades and ensure the continued reliability of the electricity supply.

In Nairobi, affected areas include parts of Karen, Langata, Kayole, Komarock, and Spine Road. Power will be unavailable from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Karen and Langata, while residents in Kayole and Komarock will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Key facilities such as Bomas of Kenya, CITAM, Forest Edge Gardens, and Langata Substation will also be affected.

Counties outside the capital

In Kajiado County, areas of Amboseli and Isara will experience interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting lodges, schools, and businesses in Ngong and Madaba.

Nandi County residents in Kibwwareng are expected to be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., while Kakamega County’s Musanda and Bungatsi areas will experience outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Mt. Kenya region will see power interruptions in Nyeri County, including Kiwara DC’s Offices and surrounding villages, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Embu County’s Gitari, Kindaruma, Kiamberere, Muchononoke, and Makungurugu areas will also be affected at various times between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Coast region and advisory


On the coast, residents of Kilifi Town and Diani Beach Road in Kilifi and Kwale counties, respectively, will experience blackouts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This will affect households, hotels, and commercial establishments along these popular areas. Kenya Power advised customers to plan and make alternative arrangements where possible

The company also directed customers to their website for full advance notice and updates regarding scheduled maintenance activities.
