The Kenya Meteorological Department has predicted continued rains across the country for the next seven days.

According to the weatherman’s latest outlook, rainfall is expected to continue over some parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the South Rift Valley, the southeastern lowlands, and the Coast.

For most parts of the country, rain is expected over a few places in the morning, showers and thunderstorms over several places in the afternoon, and showers over a few places at night.

“Rainfall is expected to continue over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley, the southeastern lowlands, and the Coast,” the weatherman stated.

In the advisory, the weatherman predicted that temperatures above 30°C are likely in the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwest of Kenya.

Chilly nights with temperatures below 10°C in parts of the Central Highlands and Central Rift Valley are also expected within the week.

“Average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in several parts of the country, including the Coast, northeastern, and northwestern Kenya. Average nighttime (minimum) temperatures will be less than 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley and the Central and North Rift Valley,” the weatherman stated.

The weatherman predicts that regions in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi County, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Laikipia, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi, will experience intermittent cloudiness in the morning, giving way to sunny intervals, with afternoon and night showers likely to occur over a few places.

On Monday, December 2, 2024, the weatherman forecasted reduced rainfall in most of the countries from December 3 to 9, 2024.

In a statement, the weatherman said that some regions, such as the Lake Victoria Basin, South Rift Valley, Southeastern Lowlands, and the Coast, will, however, still experience showers.

“Rainfall is expected to decrease in many regions, but some areas will still experience showers. Expect rainfall in Lake Victoria Basin, South Rift Valley, Southeastern Lowlands, and Coast,” the weatherman stated.
