Police in Shinyalu, Kakamega County on Thursday morning found a revolver gun wrapped in a men’s underwear and abandoned near Isiukhu bridge.

Shinyalu Sub-County Deputy Commissioner, Moffat Moseti, said the wheel gun was abandoned by a gang that was being trailed by police over suspected robbery incidents in Kakamega Town and on the Kakamega-Kisumu highway.

Nyumba Kumi chairperson, Hussein Muhanji Alusa, said they, alongside police, busted the gang in their hideout near the bridge, and the resultant confrontation led to the suspected criminals taking off, leaving the handgun wrapped in a boxer behind.

Muhanji said several people had been killed by the said-gang on the Isiukhu bridge.

Police vowed to hunt down the suspects.
