IEBC mass voter registration
Kenyans will have another chance to register as voters ahead of the 2027 General Election. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will begin a nationwide mass voter registration exercise on Monday, September 29, 2025.
Voter registration is a process that ensures only eligible citizens participate in elections. By registering, Kenyans gain the right to cast their ballots and influence leadership at both national and local levels.
The IEBC says the exercise is an opportunity for new voters to get listed, for those who have changed residence to update their details, and for all citizens to confirm their information.
Below are the key requirements and processes to note.
Eligibility for registration
According to Article 83 of the Constitution, eligibility to register as a voter is based on several conditions. A person must be a Kenyan citizen and at least 18 years old.
They are also required to present either a valid national identification card or a valid Kenyan passport.
