A middle-aged man from Malindi Town in Kilifi County is fearing for his life after his wife allegedly threatened to kill him.
Joseph Muchai claims his investigations revealed that his partner, Ann Wambui, was cheating on him with another man, who owns a hardware in Watamu.
Muchai told police in Malindi that recently he flew to Nairobi, and that his wife saw him off at the airport, only to cheat on him shortly after the plane started its 1-hour flight.
Muchai said upon touching down in Nairobi, and switching on his phone, one of his two house-helps called him on phone and told him that Wambui had left her young children alone, and, instead, went out with a young man.
“Sometime back, I saw a picture — on my wife’s phone — of a young man relaxing in our matrimonial home. When I asked her who that man was, she told me that he was brother to one of our house-helps. When I asked the said-maid, she denied that the man was her relative,” Muchai told K24 Digital.
The distressed man says his investigations revealed that his wife and the said-man were lovers.
“I fear they might have even engaged in intimacy in my house when I am away on business trip,” said Muchai.
The disappointed husband says Wambui has since moved out of her matrimonial home and eloped with her lover identified as James Wachira.
Muchai alleged that ever since he learnt about his wife’s cheating habits, she has been sending him messages, threatening to kill him.
Muchai reported the incident to police, and a search for the suspects led the law enforcement officers to Wachira’s hardware in Watamu.
Wambui was arrested, though Wachira managed to escape.
Wachira would later pay Wambui a visit at Malindi police post, where he was also arrested.
Muchai says he suspects his wife wants him dead so that she can take control of his property.
Police say once investigations are concluded, the two will be arraigned and face conspiracy to murder charge.
